The Institute on Healthcare Systems (IHS) at the Schneider Institutes for Health Policy is made up of a group of researchers with multi-faceted roles within the larger Brandeis community. They teach interdisciplinary courses at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels, serve as mentors, advisors, and as PhD committee chairs and members. IHS itself plays an educational role as well as the home for PhD students focused on health services research. IHS also houses a doctoral training program funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality (AHRQ). For more information about the Heller School and all of its degree programs please view here. The primary objective of the Heller School's PhD Program in Social Policy is the focused and rigorous preparation of doctoral students for research careers in universities, governmental agencies, or other research settings devoted to health services research.
